Acrylic nails mix powder and liquid monomers. The mixture forms a dough-like consistency that is then strategically molded over a thin nail extension adhered to the natural nail with glue. Acrylics add length and shape to the nail. Acrylic is much harder than gel; removal requires an acetone soak to soften the acrylic.
